AERDPQ (Association des établissements de réadaptation en déficience physique du Québec) is Quebec’s association of rehabilitation establishments for the physically impaired. It brings together 21 health and social services establishments with facilities in 108 locations across the province. Quebec’s physical rehabilitation centres (PRCs) offer specialized and in some cases ultra-specialized adaptation, rehabilitation and social integration services to persons with a physical impairment. Some 6,800 professionals work in PRCs, in multidisciplinary teams, to help disabled people become more autonomous and optimize their quality of life. Each year, the PRCs provide services to 77,500 people with a significant and permanent disability resulting from a hearing, language, motor or visual impairment.
Foster the sharing of expertise and the creation of synergy between its members;
Promote and represent its member's interests;
Monitor the issues that can impact on the social participation of people with a physical impairment or on the services offered by its members;
Offer its members consulting and support services.
In this way, the AERDPQ helps PRCs fulfil their mission of increasing the autonomy of people with a physical impairment (hearing, language, motor or visual), of offsetting their limitations, and of reducing obstacles to their social participation. They do this by providing specialized and ultra-specialized rehabilitation services that are both accessible and of quality.
AERDPQ is one of six associations of Quebec institutions, which represent the employer with the Comité patronal de négociation des conventions collectives (management negotiating committee for collective agreements).
