Rehabilitation Makes a Difference In the Lives of People Living with a Physical Impairment

With a referral, people with a physical impairment can receive services from the 21 rehabilitation centre’s for the physically impaired, which offer 108 service locations across Quebec. The Physical Rehabilitation Centres (PRCs) work both upstream and downstream (before and after intervention) from their partners (hospitals, health and social services centres, private practices, etc.). They ensure that persons with a physical impairment have access to state-of-the-art specialized and ultra-specialized rehabilitation services close to where they live.

Working Together To Improve People’s Abilities

To help people living with a physical impairment become more functionally independent, specialists take into account each person’s physical and psychosocial needs, as well as the needs of their significant others. Staff members work together in multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with each individual, to increase their capacity and to help them reduce or offset their impairments in their day-to-day life.

The PRC specialists also work with partners like daycares, schools, workplaces employers and leisure centres, which are active in different areas of the lives of people living with a physical impairment, to increase awareness of each client’s specific needs and to promote their integration. These rehabilitation specialists are familiar with the most up-to-date developments and technologies in the field. They continuously innovate and share their knowledge through their involvement in research and teaching.

PRCs offer an invigorating, stimulating and fulfilling work environment. One that measures up to your passion!
